Governing boards have an important part to play in prioritising the whole school and college approach to mental health and making it sustainable across a school or college, but governors aren't always sure where to start or what to ask.
We've produced two resources specifically for governors and trustees: a practical guide covering the eight areas of the Whole School and College Approach, with questions and tips for each one, and a one-page infographic summarising the key points. Both were developed with governors and are endorsed by NAGAS and Boards for Education (formerly Governors for Schools).
The governor role in WSCA
You don't need to be a mental health expert. These resources focus on the governor role: setting strategic direction, asking the right questions, and making sure systems are in place to track progress. They reflect current Department for Education and Ofsted priorities and connect directly to the WSCA Measurement Toolkit.
